MONROE – On October 9, 2026, United States Chief District Judge Terry A. Doughty sentenced Johnny Bradshaw, 34, of Bastrop, to 144 months in federal prison for Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, followed by five years of supervised release. He previously pled guilty to the charge on June 22, 2026.
The same day, Judge Doughty sentenced Travis Peterson, 36, of Garland, Texas, to 57 months in federal prison for Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, followed by five years of supervised release. He previously pled guilty to the charge on June 23, 2026.
BRADSHAWAccording to court records, between May and July 2025, Bradshaw worked with co-conspirators in a methamphetamine distribution network operating in and around Bastrop. Investigators intercepted communications in which Bradshaw and a co-conspirator discussed multiple drug transactions, including a large shipment being transported from Texas. Surveillance showed Bradshaw arriving at a local residence after which he and a co-conspirator discussed money owed for the shipment. On July 22, 2025, investigators conducted a controlled purchase of approximately 110 grams of methamphetamine from Bradshaw, after which he was arrested.
PETERSONAccording to court records, Peterson served as a primary transporter for the Texas-based source supplying methamphetamine to the distribution network. Investigators intercepted calls in which Peterson coordinated shipments with co-conspirators, including a July 2025 delivery during which he arrived at a residence carrying luggage believed to contain narcotics. In late August and early September 2025, Peterson arranged the transport of approximately 28 kilograms of methamphetamine. A second shipment followed in October, when Peterson provided another load of methamphetamine from his Texas residence. During a subsequent traffic stop involving his co-conspirators transporting that same shipment, investigators seized approximately 23 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in an orange suitcase.
