Business sources and editorial policy
The source, labeling, indexing, and correction rules behind every EZ News filing record and original insight.
EZ News built the Business Desk around a narrow promise: identify what a public company filed and make the original SEC record easy to inspect. Filing records are source indexes, not independent reporting.
Primary source: SEC EDGAR
The initial desk monitors current Form 8-K and Form 8-K/A records through the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s EDGAR current-filings feed. Each EZ News record retains the company name, Central Index Key, filing type, filing date, accession number, listed Form 8-K items, retrieval time, and a link to the official filing index.
EDGAR metadata tells us that a filing exists and which item labels the filer selected. It does not independently establish that every statement in the filing is correct. Company descriptions, estimates, forecasts, non-GAAP measures, and explanations remain company statements unless EZ News verifies them through another identified source.
How filing records are assembled
Fixed parsing rules validate the EDGAR host, accession number, company identifier, filing type, filing date, item labels, and official filing-index address before a record is stored. Common item numbers receive limited category labels so readers can filter the listing. The record does not invent a transaction value, market effect, motive, or outcome.
These automated filing records are deliberately excluded from search-engine article and news sitemaps. They are useful source indexes, but their existence alone does not make them original reporting.
What makes an original EZ News insight different
EZ News Insights are separately written, reviewed articles. They connect facts from named primary documents, explain why a comparison matters, identify qualifications or one-time items, and give readers questions they can verify in a later update. Each insight carries an EZ News byline, publication and update times, visible source notes, and a reader disclosure.
Scheduled insights are completed and validated before entering the publication queue. A future publication time only controls when a reviewed article becomes public; it does not ask an unattended system to invent or publish new copy. Future articles stay unavailable and out of the sitemap until their scheduled time arrives.
What EZ News does not do
- We do not copy or lightly rewrite another news publisher’s article.
- We do not present a company press release or SEC filing as independent verification.
- We do not fabricate quotations, analyst reactions, prices, transaction values, or future results.
- We do not issue personalized buy, sell, or hold recommendations.
- We do not expose database or administrative credentials to the browser.
Dates, updates, and permanent URLs
The filing date describes the date reported by EDGAR. The EZ News publication date describes when the filing record was first created. A source correction changes the page’s modification time without pretending that the original filing is newly published.
If a company later files an amendment, the amendment receives its own accession number and source record. EZ News does not silently replace an original filing with a later one. Withdrawn articles are removed from public listings and sitemaps and return an ordinary not-found response.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the EZ News contact page. A correction should identify the affected URL, disputed sentence, and supporting primary source. Material corrections should update the article body and modification time. A source update is not an excuse to erase the original publication date or manufacture freshness.
