EZ News standards
Weather sources & editorial policy
How EZ News obtains, labels, and presents weather information.
Primary weather source
Forecasts, observations, alerts, and forecast-office stories displayed by EZ News originate from the U.S. National Weather Service. Location search uses official U.S. Census Gazetteer data.
Public-domain material
National Weather Service material is generally in the public domain unless the source specifically notes otherwise. Unaltered source text and graphics remain identified as source material and are not claimed as original EZ News reporting.
EZ News presentation
EZ News may organize structured weather facts into its own page layouts and plain-language summaries. An original summary is labeled as an EZ News summary. Official alert wording and instructions remain visibly separate and are not changed in a way that alters their meaning.
No government endorsement
Use of government weather information does not imply that NOAA or the National Weather Service endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with EZ News.
Freshness and corrections
Update times are displayed with weather products. Cached information is labeled when stale, and unavailable values are not replaced with invented weather facts.
