Baltimore, Maryland – A Baltimore man received a federal sentence after pleading guilty to firearm charges. U.S. District Court Judge Adam B. Abelson sentenced Michael Lemon, 22, to 78 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for unlawful possession of a machinegun and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person. Authorities found Lemon, a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition, in possession of a modified Glock pistol when apprehended.

Kelly O. Hayes, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, announced the sentence with Special Agent in Charge Charles Doerrer, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and Commissioner Richard Worley, Baltimore Police Department (BPD).

According to court documents, on December 30, 2025, BPD officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a breaking and entering by a group of young men at a Baltimore multi-residence building. As the officers arrived at the building, they observed Lemon, who fit the description of the suspect from the 911 call, hurriedly attempting to start a motorbike. Officers then apprehend Lemon and discovered that he possessed a Glock pistol. Additionally, there was a machinegun conversion device, sometimes referred to as a “switch,” affixed to Lemon’s pistol which enabled the gun to fire automatically. U.S. Attorney Hayes commended the ATF and BPD for their work in the investigation. Ms. Hayes also thanked Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregory Conner who prosecuted this federal case.
