Kevin Landry, age 29, of Stillwater, New York, was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison for receiving child pornography. First Assistant United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Anthony Patrone, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Buffalo Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) made the announcement.
As part of his previously entered guilty plea, Landry admitted that in September 2024, he used a messaging application to receive child sexual abuse material (CSAM). In 2020, Landry pled guilty in Tennessee state court to solicitation of a minor to commit aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor after obtaining a nude photo of a female child through Snapchat and then threatening to distribute that photo to others if the child would not send more nude photos. He was sentenced to an order of deferral and judicial diversion for that offense. First Assistant United States Attorney Sarcone said: “After receiving a proverbial slap on the wrist from state authorities, Kevin Landry continued to prey on innocent children. As this federal sentence demonstrates, this office, alongside HSI and all our law enforcement partners, will continue to exercise the full weight of federal law to protect children and impose the harshest consequences on Internet pedophiles like Landry.” “Kevin Landry’s sentence reflects the severe consequences awaiting those who exploit children and traffic in child sexual abuse material,” said HSI Buffalo Acting Special Agent in Charge Anthony Patrone. “His conduct was not a lapse in judgment, it was a calculated pattern of predatory behavior targeting vulnerable victims. Child exploitation investigations are among the most disturbing and consequential matters HSI confronts, and we will continue to bring every available resource to bear against those who sexually exploit children and perpetuate their abuse.”
In addition to the term of imprisonment, United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino also ordered that Landry serve a 15-year term of supervised release which will begin after he is released from prison. Landry was also ordered to pay $21,000 in restitution to the victims of his offense.
This case was investigated by HSI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua R. Rosenthal prosecuted this case as part of Project Safe Childhood.
