MONROE – On September 21, 2026, United States Chief District Judge Terry A. Doughty sentenced Scott Perry Griffin, 50, of Dubach, to 204 months in federal prison for Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine followed by five years of supervised release. He pled guilty on June 6, 2026. According to court documents, between May 16 and October 9, 2025, Griffin conspired with several others in a scheme to distribute methamphetamine. Investigators obtained a wiretap on a co-conspirator’s phone and intercepted communications between multiple narcotics distributors, including Griffin. Agents intercepted calls on July 2 on which Griffin ordered 1.25 pounds of methamphetamine from a major supplier. After Griffin was supplied, agents used a confidential source to purchase one ounce of methamphetamine directly from Griffin. Griffin was arrested later that night following a traffic stop by a Lincoln Parish deputy that revealed $729 in small denominations in Griffin’s pocket. The deputy also uncovered a bible case containing two digital scales, clear baggies, and 263 grams of methamphetamine. U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller for the Western District of Louisiana made the announcement. The Drug Enforcement Administration and Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated this case. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Aaron Crawford with assistance from Legal Assistant Amanda Morgan. This case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), the Department of Justice’s nationwide initiative that brings federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement, prosecutors, and other public safety partners together to coordinate efforts to combat violent crime and make communities safe. Coordinated by U.S. Attorneys’ offices in each of the 94 federal districts, PSN is tailored to particular communities to strategically address specific violent crime and public safety challenges. As a key component of Operation Take Back America, PSN serves a central role in the Department’s commitment to make our country safe. PSN emphasizes three core principles: rapid federal response to violent crime and criminal offenders; strong, strategic partnerships among law enforcement at all levels; and accountability and deterrence through the prosecution of the most serious, readily provable offenses and other strategies. These efforts complement and strengthen President Trump’s Homeland Security Task Forces, ensuring a comprehensive federal response to the most pressing public safety issues facing communities.
