WASHINGTON -- Sequan Collier, 29, a previously convicted felon residing in the District, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court to 29 months in federal prison in connection with his illegal possession of a loaded Glock pistol when police encountered him parked illegally with two additional armed men while he was on supervised release for a previous firearms offense, announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. Collier pleaded guilty on June 29 before Judge Timothy J. Kelly to unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon. In addition to the 29‑month prison term, Judge Kelly ordered Collier to serve three years of supervised release. According to court documents, on March 16, 2025, at approximately 1:42 a.m., officers with the Metropolitan Police Department approached a black Audi A6 illegally parked in a no parking zone in the Logan Circle neighborhood. Collier was in the driver’s seat, accompanied by three other men, two of whom were also armed. After Collier stepped out of the vehicle, officers recovered a Glock Model 29, 10mm handgun from his waistband. The firearm was loaded with 15 rounds—14 in the magazine and one in the chamber. At the time, Collier had three prior felony convictions in D.C. Superior Court for offenses punishable by more than one year of imprisonment and was on supervised release for a 2023 firearms conviction involving another loaded Glock recovered from his pants. Collier had served 22 months in prison for that offense yet reoffended just six weeks after his release. As a convicted felon, Collier was prohibited from possessing any firearm. This case was investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Washington Field Division. The matter was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kate Naseef under the president’s Make DC Safe and Beautiful Again initiative. The initiative targets violent crime by prioritizing federal prosecution of armed repeat offenders and removing illegal firearms from District neighborhoods. 25cr81 Follow us on X, Instagram, and YouTubeOr at https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc
