SAVANNAH, Georgia: A Georgia man has been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to robbery.

The sentence was imposed by U.S. District Court Chief Judge R. Stan Baker and announced by Margaret E. “Meg” Heap, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. Corey Corley, 34, of Atlanta, was sentenced to 93 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to Interference with Commerce by Robbery. Corley was also ordered to pay $1,251.56 in restitution.

There is no parole in the federal system. According to court documents and testimony, in October 2025, Corley entered a CBD dispensary located on W. Victory Drive in Savannah. While inside the establishment, Corley acquired a pair of scissors to use as a weapon, threatening harm and then ordering an employee to the ground. After grabbing a duffel bag, Corley began to stuff the bag with merchandise from display cases before fleeing from the business. Savannah Police Department officer’s responding to the 911 call observed Corley and pursued him on foot. During the foot pursuit, Corley attempted to discard the duffel bag before being apprehended. A search of the bag found multiple items taken from the dispensary."

Local business owners and their employees deserve to operate safely without the fear of violent disruption and this defendant’s actions put an innocent worker in danger,” said U.S. Attorney Heap. “Thanks to the swift response of the Savannah Police Department, he was quickly apprehended and will now serve significant time in federal prison. This office remains committed to removing violent offenders from our streets and protecting our community’s businesses."

“Robbery is a serious crime that puts innocent people at risk and has no place in our community,” said Brad Snider, Supervisory Senior Resident Agent of FBI Atlanta’s Savannah office. “This sentence holds the defendant accountable for threatening an employee and reinforces the FBI’s commitment to working with our law enforcement partners to investigate violent crimes and bring offenders to justice.”

This case was investigated by the FBI, Savannah Police Department, and was prosecuted for the United States by Southern District of Georgia Assistant U.S. Attorney Makeia R. Jonese.
