We will start the week with unseasonably warm temperatures across the forecast area today. Some locations across the plains will see near-record to record high temperatures. Mostly dry conditions are expected with only isolated showers possible for portions of the mountains. Above-normal warmth to persist through the week, with gradual cooling each day.

September 2026 was an abnormally warm one, ending up the 4th warmest September on record for Denver (records began in 1872). Precipitation came in above normal at the official reporting station at 2.23" (normal is 1.35"), while below normal precipitation was aboved in the northwest portions of metro Denver, and much above normal precipitation fell in the southeast Denver suburbs. No snow fell in the month of September for the 6th straight year.

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced today that a federal jury has convicted Akram Marseet, 42, a native of Libya living in Golden, Colorodo, with threatening to murder two Rochester Federal judges while they were engaged in the performance of their official duties. The conviction carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
